How much does a professionally designed and built garden cost? Every project is completely bespoke, so costs vary depending on the size of the space, level changes, materials, planting, lighting, and features included. It is always helpful if you have a budget in mind, and at our initial consultation, we can discuss your budget and provide guidance based on your goals and expectations. We can design a garden to fit with your budget.

Do you offer a full design and build service? Yes — we manage the entire process from concept design through to construction and planting. This gives our clients one point of contact throughout the project and ensures the final garden is delivered exactly as intended.

In what areas do you provide your services? We primarily work in Lincolnshire and parts of Nottinghamshire.

How long does a garden project take? This depends on the complexity and scale of the project. Smaller transformations may take a few weeks, while larger luxury gardens can take several months. Weather conditions and specialist materials can also affect timelines, but we can provide our clients with an idea of the time their project will take.

When is the best time to start planning a garden project? Ideally, earlier than you think. Many clients contact us several months before they want construction to begin. Planning ahead allows enough time for design development, material sourcing, scheduling, and planting at the right time of year.

Can you work alongside architects or house renovation projects? Absolutely. In fact, involving a landscape designer early in a renovation or extension project often creates a much better end result. It allows the house and garden to feel connected and properly considered together.

Do I need a garden designer, or can I go straight to landscaping? A good design is what makes the difference between a nice garden and an exceptional one. A well-considered design ensures the space functions properly, flows naturally, and matures beautifully over time. However, for some small projects there is no need to have a design. We can discuss this with you at the initial stages and decide what is best for your project.

Can you help with a planting design? Yes — planting is a huge part of creating a successful garden. We carefully select plants based on your style preferences, soil conditions, maintenance expectations, and how you want the space to feel throughout the seasons.

Do you offer garden lighting and irrigation? Yes. We regularly incorporate lighting and irrigation into our projects to improve usability, atmosphere, and long-term plant health. These elements are usually planned during the design phase to ensure everything integrates seamlessly.

Will I be involved in the design process? Definitely. The best gardens are collaborative. We take time to understand how you want to use the space, your personal style, and the practical requirements of your lifestyle before creating a tailored design solution.

How much maintenance will my new garden require? That depends on the style of garden you choose. Some clients prefer a highly structured garden requiring regular maintenance, while others want a more relaxed, low-maintenance space. We always design with your desired level of upkeep in mind.

Can you work with an existing garden rather than starting again? Yes. Where possible, we can retain existing features, plants or structures and incorporate them into the new design, helping your garden evolve rather than completely starting again.

Can you work in all weather conditions? We work throughout the year, although certain landscaping tasks are weather-dependent. If adverse weather affects your project, we’ll keep you informed and adjust the schedule where necessary. Some elements, such as planting, may need to be completed at a later date when conditions are more suitable. We would always discuss this with you and agree on the best way forward.

Will I need planning permission for my garden project? Most garden projects do not require planning permission, although certain structures or significant changes may need prior approval. If we believe planning permission and/or listed building consent is required, we’ll highlight this during the design stage and can assist with drawings or supporting information for your application. We would always recommend confirming any prior approval requirements with your local planning authority.

Can you incorporate existing features into my new garden design? Absolutely. If there are existing plants, trees, patios or other features you would like to keep, we can look at ways to incorporate them into your new garden design, where practical.
